How you will make an impact 

 

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for plan/spec industrial construction projects. 
  • Develop conceptual and schematic budgets for design/build projects. 
  • Perform quantity take-offs and analyze material and labor costs. 
  • Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing. 
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and support project pricing strategy. 
  • Participate in conceptual system layout, equipment selection, and preliminary mechanical/piping design. 
  • Support development of process flow concepts and early-stage project planning. 
  • Collaborate with clients, sales teams, and engineering partners to develop technical proposals. 
  • Evaluate project schedules, constructability, and potential risks during the preconstruction phase. 
  • Coordinate with project management, operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth project handoff and accurate cost planning. 

 

What You Need to Succeed 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical degree preferred and/or applicable industry experience. 
  • Experience in estimating, preconstruction, or project engineering within industrial construction environments. 
  • Experience supporting projects involving Process and Utility Piping Systems, preferably within food, beverage, or dairy processing facilities. 
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience performing quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and conceptual budgeting for construction projects. 
  • Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents. 
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams during the preconstruction phase. 
  • Proficiency with estimating tools, spreadsheets, and construction management software. 
  • Understanding of industrial mechanical systems, piping layouts, and constructability considerations. 
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred. 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
